Shigeno (YAMADA) and lover Yosaku (SANO) are torn apart and their child taken away from them because their relationship is deemed forbidden. But an ironic reunion in a hostel town brings them back together… Based on CHIKAMATSU Monzaemon’s “Jinoi no kowakare”, the film depicts humanistic compassion. YAMADA’s poignant tears and SANO’s upright decency are moving.
