Francis Xavier E. PASION
(Philippines)

Biography
Francis Pasion was born in Manila, Philippines on Feb. 8, 1978. He was a soap opera writer for a major TV network and was later assigned as headwriter and producer for a public service program that featu res Filipinos abroad and their families in the Philippines. It was his experience in dealing with real people and the shocking murder of their network's reality TV producer that inspired him to write the screenplay of Jay.
Pasion graduated Cum Laude, Major in Communication at the Ateneo de Manila. He directed award - winning short films. He founded the first film organization in the university: the Loyola Film Circle which champions film production and education in the country.
His first film Jay has been screened in over 30 international film festivals and has won 7 international awards. Sampaguita, National Flower is his second film and has been selected at the Hong Kong Asian Financing Forum.

The Tokyo Culture Creation Project is a project that the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture have been executing in collaboration with various arts-related organizations. The Project's objectives are to create and promote arts and culture that are unique to Tokyo, to develop children's rich sensibilities through arts and culture, and to create various local cultural focal points in Tokyo. The Project's activities include organization of various art events; facilitation of collaborative art programs between residents of Tokyo and artists; and operation of programs to provide children with the opportunity to experience arts and culture.
