
SONG Fang( China / Film Director )
SONG Fang has studied film directing in l’INSAS in Belgium, and received her MA on film directing from Beijing Film Academy in China.
In 2009, her short film GOODBYE received the Second Prize of the Cinefondation at the 62nd International Film Festival of Cannes. In 2012, her first feature film MEMORIES LOOK AT ME, won the Best First Feature prize of the 65th International Film Festival of Locarno, the Special Jury prize of the 13 th Tokyo FILMeX, and was screened in numerous festivals such as the 50th New York Film Festival, the 56th London Film Festival, the 17 th Busan IFF and the 42th Rotterdam IFF, among others. In 2020, her feature film THE CALMING, was selected by the Forum of the 70th Berlin International Film Festival, and received the Art-house Film Federation prize.

Ramon ZÜRCHER( Switzerland / Film Director )
Born in Aarberg, Switzerland in 1982, he studied visual arts at the Bern Academy of the Arts (HKB) and film directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB). His graduation feature, The Strange Little Cat (2013), premiered in the Berlinale Forum and screened at Toronto, Cannes, and other international festivals, earning the New Talent Grand PIX at CPH:PIX, the Special Jury Award for Best First Film at Minsk, and the Audience Jury Award at Viennale. In 2017, he co-founded Zürcher Film with his twin brother Silvan Zürcher and co-directed The Girl and the Spider (2021), winning Best Director and the FIPRESCI Prize at Berlinale Encounters. His third feature, The Sparrow in the Chimney (2024), premiered at Locarno and received the Rossellini Award at Pingyao. He is currently developing a new project with Silvan, marking a departure from their acclaimed Animal trilogy.

Matías PIÑEIRO( Argentine / Film Producer )
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina 1982. Based in New York since 2011. He is a film director and writer with feature and short films premiered in Berlinale, Locarno, Cannes, Toronto and New York Film Festival. His films usually spring from a variety of literary sources such as William Shakespeare, Cesare Pavese, Sappho and Domingo F. Sarmiento.
He teaches cinema at Pratt Institute, New York and coordinates the filmmaking program at Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, San Sebastian. He also has worked in film programming for Anthology Film Archives and Punto de Vista film festival. At present, he is developing two projects: the adaptation of Henry James’s The Lesson of the Master and a narrative-essay based on Francesco Petrarca’s Remedies for Life. YOU BURN ME is his latest feature.
Three student jurors will evaluate the 10 films in the competition, and the “Student Jury Prize” winning film will be announced at the award ceremony on Saturday, November 29. The selection of the student jurors and the administration of the prize will be undertaken by the Tokyo Student Film Festival.
