[Introduction]
A splendid historical drama based on the Old Testament's Book of Esther, this is GITAI's first feature film which forms part of the "Exile Trilogy" along with "Berlin-Jerusalem" and "Golem: The Spirit of Exile." Master cinematographer, Henri ALEKAN, oversaw filming of every work in the trilogy. Screened at the Cannes Film Festival Critics' Week, and awarded the Grand Prix at the Torino Film Festival.
